The livestock industry has undergone a significant transformation, transcending traditional boundaries and opening up exciting business opportunities across a wide range of sectors. From management to marketing, today's livestock business shows its potential to penetrate and dominate various stages of the value chain. This increasingly growing innovation makes the livestock industry a promising sector for today's young people.

More than just raising animals, the livestock business has now penetrated a wider realm. "The importance of innovation in the livestock business cannot be ignored. Now we are talking about integrated management, processing and marketing of processed products," said Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ir. Khusnul Khotimah., M.P., M.M., a lecturer in Animal Science Department, Faculty of Agriculture & Animal Science, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) who is experienced in this sector.

One of the main drivers of this change is increased consumer interest in quality processed livestock products. From processed meat to creatively processed dairy products, livestock businesses are now innovating in creating value-added products. Khusnul emphasized, "Skills in processing and packaging processed livestock products can provide greater appeal to modern consumers whose tastes and preferences are increasingly diverse."

In line with this, developments in processed products starting from design and packaging also play an important role in attracting consumer attention. Attractive packaging that matches the value of the product can build a strong brand image and trigger visual appeal. The modern livestock business is not only about what is produced, but also how it can be presented well to consumers. The sustainability of the livestock business today lies in effective collaboration between breeders, producers, distributors and other parties in the value chain. This ensures quality products reach consumers' hands.

However, for young people who want to experience success in the livestock business with the capital they already have, there is one option offered, namely chicken farming. Chicken, as a staple food consumed by all levels of society in Indonesia, provides a golden opportunity to earn sustainable profits. "Chickens are one of the livestock animals that are relatively easy to raise and have affordable initial costs," said the lecturer who is currently in the animal feed business. "In addition, demand for chicken products, such as meat and eggs, is always high throughout Indonesia. "Even though the chicken business has high profit potential, knowledge about livestock management and animal health is very important. Before getting into this business, one should learn about good practices in raising chickens and recognize the risks that may arise. One can also learn about animal welfare to ensure that the livestock is managed well.

Finally, Khusnul said, "Through broad innovation and an inclusive approach, today's livestock business is not just about raising animals. It's about managing resources wisely, producing quality products, and presenting them in packaging that appeals to modern consumers. Thus, the livestock business has built a strong foundation to become a major force in the economy.” (rev)
