Association of Livestock department students successfully get the grant from DIKTI through Hibah Kompetisi Assosiasi Profesi Mahasiswa program (PHK-APM). The grant 40 million rupiah is given because of the proposal about the utilization of rabbit skin and chicken feet. The student association holds a training on tannerying the skin.

He stated that the rabbit skin tannery products were from unvaluable rabbit breeding waste. Then, the waste were processed by the students association into bags, shoes, sendals, accessories, wallets, etc. And so is the chicken feet.
The products then will be sold at UMM Inn, the UMM Souvenir centre, and university surround. The grant is the starting point of business for the students.
About 20 Livestock students in Malang joined the training for a week. They are from Brawijaya University, Tribuana Tungga Dewi University, University of Islam Malang, and University of Kanjuruhan. Each university delegates two students. It is expected that the participants will share the training material to their university. (Source : KRONIK, EDITION 1/IX JANUARY, 2010).
